Grouping

So now we know 'Grouping' has to do with calculating the skips of each number to determine hot, cold, and in-between numbers.
In other words, classifying the numbers into groups based on their skip patterns. (Remember the 'Skip', is how many draws between a particular number getting drawn.) 'Hot' numbers are numbers that are having a run ie coming up regularly, 'Prior', are the numbers that just played last draw, 3 draws ago and 2 draws ago. My favorite picks are numbers that just played last draw that had not played for a long time before that. 'Cold' are numbers that haven't played for a number of draws and 'Due' are numbers that are overdue, meaning that according to their mean skip they are due to turn up. LottoPro 2007 does the math for you and I'm happy to say that I bought it once and that's it, I never have to buy it again. They offer a subscription for the historical Lottery numbers, but I plan on keeping mine up-to-date by adding the drawn numbers for the lotteries I play each draw.

Wheeling and Combinations

We now also know that 'Wheeling' and 'Combinations' has to do with taking a larger group of numbers and playing them all in the various possible combinations, so that if any of the numbers in our larger set get played, we will win.

For example, if we choose to play with 14 of the possible 49 numbers for a 6/49 game, we would play all the possible combinations of 6 that those 14 numbers can make, so that if 6 of those 14 numbers do get drawn, we will have the winning combination. This strategy can be very expensive to play, so we, the budget-bound lottery players, would prefer to play a 'reduced set wheel'. For example in a reduced set wheel of our example of 14 numbers we want to play, if 3 of our 14 numbers played, we would not get a prize in our reduced wheel, depending on our wheel choice we may not even get a prize of 4 if our 14 numbers played, BUT if 5 of our 14 numbers played, we would be guaranteed a 5/6 prize. This is the advantage of the reduced wheel sets, you get better coverage using less money.

Lotto Pro 2007 produces the abreviated (ie cheaper) sets of wheels for you, but you can also choose to generate the full wheels or additional wheels.

It is a time-intensive task to figure out all the skips, and then to establish the numbers you would have the best advantage of playing. It is another time-consuming task to find a good wheeling resource for your budget, game, amount of numbers. It is then another time-intensive task to follow the wheel, which is sort of like following code where you replace each one of your numbers in the numbered position in all the rows of the wheel.
